Love weekends like the one I’ve had. Minus the fact that I didn’t fall asleep until 4AM this morning.
The weekend officially started when Dina arrived. I picked her up at the station around 9.15PM. We went to get some food and then headed back to my house. Popped a bottle of white wine and just sat around until 1AM talking about everything. Saturday morning we woke up around 9AM and had a wonderful breakfast together and then worked the rest of the day. Later in the afternoon we headed to a soccer game, it was pouring down rain but we were good sports and stayed for the entire game. After that it was time for a bit to eat. Went home and chilled for a bit before changing and going back into town for dinner. Came home around 11.30PM but didn’t go to bed until 2AM. Sunday was a morning full of work and then I headed for lunch at Ami’s house. Came home much later than I had planned on and then sat down to do some more work. Around midnight I was super tired but wanted to finish and once I did I wasn’t tired anymore. Ended up staying up till 4AM…and then I fell asleep. When my alarm went off at 6.45 there was no way I was getting up. Went back to sleep and got up at 8.45, got ready and headed to work then…
So, my beloved country, Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the World Cup for the first time ever. This whole journey has been about so much more than football. It has brought the people closer and united us as a country and I couldn’t be more proud. I’m proud of the players for giving it their all, not just for themselves but for every Bosnian soul all over the world. We lost out first game to Argentina 2-1, Messi scored of course. But, it doesn’t even matter, we will rise and we will win the next two games and advance in the World Cup, I’m sure of it.
Yesterday after work and a short visit to the Dr, I met up with a friend for some shopping. Only got a few small things, like nail polish and eye cream. Then we sat down for some mexican food and some froyo!
Came home, showered, and then watched TV-shows and movies before the game started. Bosnia was playing Argentina in a friendly game in St. Louis. With the time difference the game started at 2.30 AM. I went to bed at 4AM and woke up around eight. Super tired right now!!!
It’s almost 1AM and I just got in bed at my sisters house. Straight after work I headed to Linköping. I met up with my sister at her job and we were soon joined by Ivy and E. We went to Steve’s for a bite to eat and then to the stadium for the soccer game. Woman’s Euro Cup, England vs Spain. We were cheering for England but Spain won 3-2, by scoring in the last minute of the game.
I’m not really tired but I hope I fall asleep really soon as my sister and I are getting up at 6AM. We’re heading to the east coast!
I have two weeks left before my vacation and the days are passing by super slow. This weekend is gonna be fun, so I’m looking forward to it. First soccer, womans Euro Cup in Linköping and then visiting family on the east coat of Sweden. Praying for good weather…
