Gigi Hadid x Maybelline

I was a bit late on the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline hype because I didn’t see anything in the collection that I absolutely had to  have. Nothing stood out, color wise, for me to buy it.

But, a few weeks ago I saw all the products on sale and got two things. Now regretting I even spent money on it.

The eye contour palette is a joke, literally. Quite possibly the worst Maybelline product I have ever tried. It felt like I had bought a counterfeit palette from Ebay. Absolutely worthless! It feels weird saying that since Maybelline is one of my favorite brands. I literally feels like they didn’t even care about the product but instead were hoping people would buy it because Gigi’s name was attached to it. And I’m sure a lot of people did. I’ve used it twice and both times I hated it. The fallout is the worst I’ve ever come across and the color payoff, pretty much non-existent. By noon I didn’t have anything on my eyes anymore.

Worst buy of the year, so far!!!

I picked up this Essence blush from their summer collection, really looking for a bright summer color. To use one I (hopefully) get a tan.

This blush wasn’t was a disappointment in that department. And I think I’ll use my Sleek blush instead. The color pigment, for me, just doesn’t do it.

Rave: Lumene CC cream

Ladies, I’m here to rave about a product that I’ve fallen in love with.

Only a few days ago I received a Lumene CC Cream as a gift with purchase. Lumene is a brand I’m familiar with, I’ve used their foundation before. If I’m not mistaken it is a Finish brand. But, I had never tried a CC Cream before. I was gonna get the Vichy BB cream because I heard AsciaAKF rave about it on Snapchat and because I’m familiar with BB Creams. But since I tried the Lumene CC Cream I’m hooked. I don’t like a full coverage foundation nor do I really need it therefore I tend to like the light and water-based ones with a naked finish. I’m all about the natural no makeup, makeup look. That’s why a BB or CC cream suits me just fine. I only wear a full coverage foundation if I’m going to special function, like a wedding. All other times I’m fine with something much more light.

After trying this Lumene one, I don’t think I need any other BB or CC Cream because this one does it all for me. Although I would like to try the Vichy BB Cream just to see if it’s worth the hype. But, that’s gonna have to wait, I’ve just upgraded bits and pieces of my makeup, including foundation.

Bahama mama

A few days ago I wrote THIS post about the Balm and also asking for tips on a bronzer. Someone suggested I try the Bahama mama bronzer from the Balm.

Of course, I had to pick it up. Because just as I mentioned I dropped my Laguna bronzer from Nars and it broke.

I only got the bronzer yesterday so today is my first time using it and I like it. On the first try it’s not as good as Laguna but it’s still good. I feel that the Bahama mama is a bit darker.

highlighter

I was also on the hunt for a good highlighter, mostly in a contour palette but since I’ve heard a lot about the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter also from The Balm I got that as well.

Since I was only going to the office today I didn’t need any highlighter I didn’t use it but I will this weekend and I’ll let you know what I think!

Christma gift

A girl named Sanna, from Lyko.se, a swedish beauty online store, contacted me to send me makeup from a brand I’ve never heard of before. It’s called MIYO and it’s a swedish brand founded in 2012.
Like I mentioned I had never heard of the brand before so of course I had to google it. Didn’t find much on it at all. Only a Facebook page and that MIYO stands for; My Identity, Yourfully Original.

As it is Christmas Eve and we are going to a party tonight I will try all the products and will let you know what I think of it in a post in the new few days.

Max Faxtor lip liner

I usually only post about products I actually like and would recommend for you. But, this time I have to warn you about a product I was really excited about. It’s a Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liner. I got it while I was away because I had forgotten my favorite lip liner, a Rimmel one that is now discontinued. I was actually looking for a similar one color-wise and this was the closest one to it, that’s why I got it. I was hoping it would be a good alternative to my Rimmel lip liner.

Oh boy was I disappointed. First, the tip broke the first time I was applying it and then, I couldn’t sharpen it. In the end I was able to do so but the liner itself keeps breaking. I think the reason for that it that it feels very dry. Also, the color was much more an orange tone than pink. It looks like it might be a nude pink color that matches the skin but I couldn’t really match it to my skin at all, even if i rubbed it a little.

So, this i a product that really isn’t worth getting. Spend your money on something else.

Has anyone of you tried it, what do you think?

Bourjois foundation

I picked up this Bourjois compact powder about 10 days ago and I already feel like it’s gonna be a must have for me in the months to come. The description of it got me;

THE SILK EDITION POWDER BLURS IMPERFECTIONS & MATTIFIES THE SKIN FOR A FLAWLESS FINISH.

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Well let me tell you that it actually does that for me. I do use it over my liquid foundation to se it and remove the moist feeling. I can truly recommend this for everyone looking for a compact that looks natural. If you want something that covers more this isn’t for you. I for example, who does get red patches every now and then couldn’t use it as the base on my face.
